alert 2011 MEETING

ALERT Workshop and Doctoral School 2011 will be organized from Monday October 3rd to Wednesday October 5th 2011 in Aussois. 
The poster session for the 2011 annual ALERT Workshop will be open to all scientific topics in the field of soil, rock and concrete mechanics.

Session 1 (First day, Monday, October 3rd): Multiscale geomechanics: from fabric to material properties
Coordinators: G. Couples and B. Chareyre

Session 2 (Second day, Tuesday, October 4th): Geomechanical issues in CO2 storage 
Coordinators: G. Pijaudier-Cabot and J.M. Pereira

 Session 3 (Third day, Wednesday, October 5th): Localized versus diffuse failure in geomaterials
Coordinators: M. Hicks and G. Viggiani

The 5th ALERT poster session, 2011 will be held during the 2011 annual ALERT Workshop and will be organized by A. Seiphoori (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne). Download the booklet [ISBN 978-2-8399-0941-9]of the 2011 poster session containing the abstracts of the selected posters.

You can reach the CNRS "Centre Paul Langevin" in Aussois through Modane, a small town close to the Italian /French border in the french Alps. Modane can be reached easily by motorway (Lyon-Torino) or by train (from Paris by a TGV). Aussois is 7 km far from Modane, taxis are available at the front of Modane railway station.

A bus will be waiting in front of Modane railway station on Sunday 2nd of October 2011, departing at 19:40. A bus will also leave the "Langevin Centre" in Aussois to Modane on Wednesday 5th ofOctober and on Saturday 8th of October 2006 at 18:30.

ALERT OLEK ZIENKIEWICZ COURSE 2011
The third Alert Geomaterials Local Doctoral Course will be held from Monday June 27 to Friday July 1, 2011 at 3SR, Grenoble, France on the topic of : "Discrete Mechanics of Geomaterials".
