4th international conference on Coupled problems in science and engineering (coupled Problems 2011)
June 20-22, 2011, Kos Island, Greece
The objectives of Coupled 2011 are to present and discuss state of the art, mathematical models, numerical methods and computational techniques for solving coupling problems of multidisciplinary character in science and engineering. The conference goal is to make step forward in the formulation and solution of real life problems with a multidisciplinary vision, accounting for all the complex couplings involved in the physical description of the problem.
Deadline for presenting a one page abstract: 29 October 2010.

Advanced course "mechanics of fine cohesive powders"
July 11-15, 2011, International Center for Mechanical Science, Udine, Italy
For more detailed information, please click here.
An overall aim of the course is to contribute to develop
the capacity of interdisciplinary
research fields to understand these
complex systems. This course
is thus intended for doctoral
and postdoctoral academic and
industrial researchers in applied
physics, mechanical-, chemical- or
geotechnical engineering, who
are interested the sharing and
integration of knowledge bases from
this disparate set of disciplines
into a single interdisciplinary
subject area oriented to the special
characteristics of fine powders. |
2oth french congress on mechanics

GEOMECHANICS OF STRUCTURED MATERIALS
Soils and Foundations special issue
The "Geomechanics of structured materials" was the topic treated during a session of the ALERT Geomaterials Workshop 2007. A general overview of the behaviour of structured geomaterials and a timely state of the acquired knowledge in this field of geomechanics, as close as possible to the current state of practice, was offered. This Special Issue, hosted by Soils and Foundations International Journal, includes most of the contributions presented.
